A sad day yesterday (30 January 2025) saying goodbye to a great hunting companion and family pooch, our beloved Cesky Fousek, Koha, who was diagnosed with a large cancerous bone tumour. Koha, who would have been 12 years this August, was a great companion, a great hunting dog, and had a wonderful loyal, calm and biddable temperament. Cira z Orlického panství is a 4 year old white female Cesky Fousek we imported from Czechia to support our breeding programme here in New Zealand. Cira landed in New Zealand on the 4th November 2022 and following a 10 day quarantine she is now exploring the New Zealand countryside. New Litter of Puppies: Feb 2021
It’s been a productive 6 months for us at Cesky Fousek New Zealand. In November 2020, one of our females, Perdita of NewBohemia (aka Frankie) owned by Brandon and Megan Fiebig in Queenstown gave birth to no less than 10 puppies. Five puppies were male, and five were female. This was the first litter sired by our new male dog Art ze Stoprounských vinic. Art arrived in New Zealand from Czechia in March 2020. A River Shoot with Fouseks
The typical Cesky Fousek loves water. They are at their best when they are in the thick of the action as in this video. There is something delightful and stirring about floating down a river and trying to beat duck at their own game.
