Sunday washing. Some pest control and a local farm (John Menneer, July 2019)

Cracker day in the Hawke’s Bay hunting pheasants with Richard Alderman and Kathleen McCrory. A few birds down with Freya, Odessa and Olympia working hard for us. Photo: Odessa and Olympia (Andrew McCrory and Richard Alderman, June 2019)

A good weekend of duck, pheasant, and quail (John Menneer, May 2019)

Lucy from J litter had a tough day retrieving some rather lively black swans that decided to “wake up” and have a go at her. I have never seen a dog do it before but she put her head completely under the water with the swan in her mouth and swam under water until they settled down. I have no idea how she came up with the idea but it worked! (Josh Western, May 2019)

Odessa (owner: Andrew McCrory) looking for stags in the Kaimanawas, a few hinds seen but no stags unfortunately. She is coming along amazingly and flushed a sika hind out of the bush edge I was hunting. I think she was more disappointed than me that we didn’t shoot anything (April 2019).

Wagging school on Friday for this young lad (12 yrs) to bag his first duck limit on a canoe drift. Heather of NewBohemia was at his side (Jake Overton, May 2019).

Great morning on the pheasants with Freya and Tess. 3 birds down and the dogs were awesome pointing and flushing quite a few (Andrew McCrory, May 2019).

Markjohn and I had been watching this big rooster on our driveway all summer. Along came opening day and we bagged him for the pot. Koha of NewBoemia (John Menneer, May 2019).

Bruce Quirey and Phin out for a duck on Opening day 1st May 2019. This was Phin’s first season on the ducks.

Koha with two pheasants we shot and she retrieved (John Menneer, May 2019).

Our Cesky Fousek Koha giving my son a smooch for bagging his first sika stag. Two of my sons were keen to shoot a sika so we headed into the heads of the Hinemaia Stream in the Kaimanawa Range. Day 1, I roared up this 4 pointer for Marcus. Day 2, I roared up a big six for my other son Aston, which he duly missed! Needless to say he was very disappointed (John Menneer, April 2019).

This is Mindy. Mindy is from M litter. Dam: Koha of NewBohemia, Sire: Oskar od Jemiluk (September 2018).

Father and son Phin (left) and Oskar (right) at Craigmore Station (Bruce Quirey, July 2018).

A beautiful winter morning to be out for a walk. Freya teaching her 6mth old pups (Olympia and Odessa) a few things. Not much for them to send up but the pups worked well together. A couple of tired wee dogs tonight I’d expect (Andrew McCrory, June 2018).

Mika (J litter) out duck hunting (Alexander Read).

My son and I were hunting an area of pines where the dogs had indicated deer. In a small saddle we encountered a handy hind. My son took the shot and hit the deer hard in the chest, causing it to bolt down a spur finally coming to rest in a steep sided papa creek. The dogs did a mint job of tracking an intermittent blood trail through blackberry for about 100m before we secured our game. (John Menneer, March 2017).
